Bead Soup Reveal

It's Reveal Day!  I received a very pretty bead soup from my partner Roxanne Blanc at

She sent two focals and I chose to use the round pendant with attached bail.  It matched the chain she sent perfectly.  I added several of the large turquoise colored jasper beads, two of the round filigree beads and some hematite beads from my collection.

I also made a bracelet using the lampwork glass beads Roxanne provided.  I wire wrapped them and added a second strand of mixed glass beads, and a coordinating ribbon.  The magnetic clasp makes putting this bracelet on a breeze.  I also added some green leaf dangles which are hard to see in this picture.

I also made some colorful earrings using the fancy rivoli beads as the dangles on these earrings.  I love the colors together.

I had fun designing these items with the beads from  Roxanne.  Thanks Lori Anderson for once again putting together this Bead Soup Blog Hop Challenge!  Head on over to Roxanne's blog to see what she made with the beads I sent her at http://strikesmyfancy_2013.blogspot.com

Bead Soup has Arrived!

Friday I received the Bead Soup that my partner Roxanne Blanc sent to me.  I was surprised to see we were on the same wavelength with what we sent to each other... I sent beads to her in the same colors and shapes, a different mix of materials, but very similar overall.
Roxanne's blog is at strikesmyfancy-2013.blogspot.com.  She is a professional pattern designer and seamstress.  She participated in the Bead Soup Blog Party last year and had a great design using the soup she received then.  Here's the link to her BSBP post from last year: http://strikesmyfancy-2013.blogspot.com/2013/04/bead-soup-blog-party-reveal.html.

And here's what she sent me....
A happy little Easter basket!

Full of Surprises!

Lampwork...

lots of metal....

turquoise rounds

and rectangles.....

fancy rivolis...

and teal crystals.

I am definitely feeling challenged by the rivolis and the metal focal with places for inserting cabachons, crystals or... something.... that will take some thought!  I love the chain and metal lentil beads too.

Now I have until May 3 to create with the soup I received... Looks like its going to be fun!

This is what I sent Roxanne:

I hope she has a lot of fun with it!

Here is the inspiration photo posted by Earrings Everyday.
Two beautiful dragon flies...

And here are my earrings:  I used vintage buttons and colorful beads from my stash trying to imitate the shape the two dragon flies
formed.

Tractor Tire Pendant

I bought this stoneware pendant from Lisa Peters (http://www.lisa-petersart.blogspot.com) at the Bead & Button show this past June.  It really reminds me of a tractor tire... I added dangles in a rustic theme and hung the assemblage from leather.

Bird's Nest Necklace

I made this necklace for Leah, trying to create one like she had seen at the farmer's market this past summer.
